Hi, this company we did 2 loads for back on August 23rd and 24th, the total came up to $1900 their contract agreed to pay within 30 days now it’s been 90 days, they paid the 900 portion to my factoring company which is all good. But they owe us 1000 and aren’t picking up my calls or reesponding to my emails. I filed a claim against their bond but the bond company said they couldn’t help because they started covering bosnic on sep.8. What do you guys recommend? Thank you.

Sounds like an Illinois outfit... ;-)

You will more than likely eat it, unless your factoring company can squeeze it out of them.

Guido would be more than happy to get your money for you. Of course, Guido would charge $950 to collect it.

That money if gone. Treat it as a lesson to not be nice, and next time file on their bond on day 31.

They are no longer in business, so the only option is to verify that. Once verified, you can sue the company owner. After spending thousands in lost time and court and lawyers you will be able to collect exactly zero dollars.

You send an invoice to the shipper. Demand for payment. Explain that the broker failed to pay and that this is the only and final notice for demand of pay or legal action will result. Give them 30 days to pay then file a warrant in debt for $56 that they will have to pay.

Eh. Back in those days you probably wouldn't even feel safe reporting these guys to the authorities because they were protected by some Tony Soprano type.

Do you guys remember the season of the sopranos where those two wise guys got into a fight over landscaping companies and the owners of the landscaping companies both got sent to the hospital over it? We're those guys not the Tony Soprano types. Their 'protection' has always mostly been about being protected from them.
