Paid parking at petro is neatly 30 spots.
They expect you to pay for everything. Stop moving freight for a week and watch the rates really shoot up. But then you have Lease purchase (company driver) who can’t take off because of those 700.00 a week plus payments before they even get started. Never understood that I’ll hope to pay off this truck but the whole time I make company driver pay less benefits more stress and end up with no truck and tax problems. Eld rate increase is temporary until they flat out say I’m not paying any more than usual. Dpf/Def Truck have higher operating expenses due to maintenance, downtime etc.. and they still pay .90-1.00 a mile. What happens when shippers and brokers simply refuse to pay more to move freight it won’t sit and it’s proven

The first week with ELD, pay spots were all I could find. Did not have enough time on the clock to head to one of my nicer free spots. Yes, ELD strikes again. And grateful for the pay spots, hate paying, I can afford, but it still sucks.

When the paid spots don't fill up because the mandate isn't the end of the trucking world that many fear, they will start seeing their profit margin decrease, then they will reduce the number of paid spots...give it time.

I just like the idea I can work it into trip planning, sure it will take a little bit of time to book that spot, but then I can drive the hours I want knowing there is a spot for me when the time comes. And will not be running into the 11 hr./14 hr. limits, just planning for 9.5 hrs of pure driving to cover the crap that happens out on the road.
