Someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me how you check for bridge weights in your routing. I had a 22 ton limit on my company recommended routing this morning. Fortunately, I run 2 routing programs and even Google maps in a picture in picture in my phone for closures. So I got myself a reroute. I've never had a clearance just pop up but bridge weights just are suddenly there. They dont give you any notice at all.

Is that what the restricted routes means? Low weight bridges too? Yep. Sorry. I can read. It does. thanks.

Yes - restrictions are for a variety of reasons.

I planned my routes this way for years.

Keep an updated version handy, they’re cheap - much cheaper than tickets and bridge strikes :)

Bridge or road weight restrictions are not found on the Rand McNally road atlas. However, some of the restrictions in the atlas will be due to road/bridge weight limits. Some states like ND will have a website where they show all of their road/bridge weight limits. I remember asking the same question you’re asking, but there isn’t an easy solution yet.

A truck GPS can help with this, but I have found out several times that the information isn’t accurate. For example, it will sometimes flag a good truck route because it thinks there is a low weight sign ahead.
