That would be a lot of car washes. And how often would you have time to wash it?

The chain probably won't last long either.

Give it a spray at the pump if they have a hose. I'm also home every week.

If I had one on my truck, I would have time to wash it every time I took a 34, or once a week.

As a reefer hauler, I could throw a few bucks at the reefer washout crew every week to spray down the bike.

If you keep chains oiled up with spray lube, they will last a while.

Reasonable cleaning and maintenance on a bike's mechanicals isn't that hard or time consuming.

It will definitely still age faster on the catwalk of a truck than if stored in a garage, but you should be able to keep a simple motorcycle or moped reasonably well maintained for minimal effort for at least a few years.

I bought a new V45 magna during that 55 experiment, and put 29,000 miles on it in 11 1/2 months, than bought a wing.
The magnas sweet spot where it really liked to run was 95 or 6 mph, I paid enough tickets that year to make insurance near unobtainable at any cost the next.
When I made the deal for the wing, I was working 80 miles away and the other side of houston, getting to the bank to do the deal was problemetic to say the least. I finally rained out and head for the bank, I topped an overpass at 96 knowing full well that a pasaadena motorcycle cop would be setting down there, he always was. He just stood there there and waved me over. He ask why I was in such a hurry, and I told him, it doesn't matter, but I rained out and if I can get to my bank, I am going to get me a bike like yours, he was riding a wing. lol
He laughed so hard it wasn't funny, and told me I was getting a ticket, but he would give me the smallest one possible. lol

I'm basically looking at 250 dual sports. Husqvarna looks the best for price and weight. 40 lbs off the big 3 Japanese bikes.

I washed my truck pretty regular and they would spray it off. When I got it home it would get a good cleaning.

An outfit up here rents some nice bmw dual sports, and they are popular for guys to rent and ride up the haul road to Prudhoe. Coming back today up at baker there was what looked like a bmw in the ditch that had had a slight heating problem and melted down, I do not know if it was a rental or even for sure it was a bmw.

I underestimated the size of the 250 dual sports. They're enormous and will not really fit between the headlights. Probably best I go with a TW200 or smaller. KLX250 is 7 ft long and the front wheel is 28" high.

Alright guys, I'm zeroing in on the TW200. Found a 2017 for $3000 along a regular route of mine. I'm thinking of grabbing it on my way back this week. We've got a guy in the shop who's itching to fabricate anything he can so I'm going to have him put a mount together. My idea is to have the standard channel rack mount with a wheel chock, but on a hinge to reduce front clearance without the bike on. I also like the idea of locking nuts, or a locking system in general to keep the mount attached to the tow hook mounts, but also able to be detached with some tools. Either a locking nut to pull it into the lock or even the locking screws you might see on blind mount electrical boxes in the wall where turning the bolt rotates the lugs into position and then pulls them tight. Any suggestions would be appreciated. My biggest concern is that the weight is properly covered. I fully expect it to see forces of about 1000 lbs going over some of these roads on the front. Even in the cab I have seen 2Gs which might be amplified by overhang of the bumper.
