    Hi all,

I'm filling out a package for a new broker, and it's asking me to scan a photo of my driver's license or take a picture of myself with my iPhone?
Did you ever had that happen to you? Or is it a new thing now?
I never had to do something like that filling up a carrier's package...

    making sure who you are,
lot of scams these days, but i wouldn’t send my id unless i trusted them, or had them send id for you to examine too.

It’s a precaution against rampant double brokering. I wouldn’t worry about it myself. I’ve done it. I guess it depends on the load pay and how bad you need it.

My understanding is that you shouldn't send a copy of your DL to brokers due to scams, double brokering, etc. I would research that before doing it.

    Siinman Thanks this.

Say what? I'd take a pic of my rear and send that to them. Sure there's a better broker than that.

    HaglerFan Thanks this.

Never done that before for setting up. Would have no problem telling them to send their ID first so I can put it in my files. IF they are willing to send it than I would be okay I guess if it matched the owner of the brokerage name. If they want proof it is me picking up a load I would be okay with snapping a pic of me and truck at the shipper. That about as far as I would go to get set up.

    HaglerFan Thanks this.

No one has had to have their ID scanned at the shipper?

    I know
    This is about brokers.

    Siinman Thanks this.

I've shown ID at military bases and ports. Never anywhere else
