Funny, Iv been going through my contract looking for loop holes on making us put e-logs in.. I guess I will not worrie about it no more, I noticed when Bruenger wrote my contract they put March, 2016 as the expiration of our contract.. Roflol!!
Unfortunately TEL would be a whole other story.. This is who I lease the truck with.. I know there are stipulations to moving the equipment, I think it might be $2000.00 cost.. Need to check into that one more...
But then I would have to find a company that will not go elog until 2017 and just ride the last year out on my TEL contract..

Yeah I thought the same thing when R/M went E-log back in '09, but all the old dogs there found a way to survive and even thrive, buying newer trucks even. So you can make it, just have to really watch the bottom line, drive to max your fuel mileage, basically watch everything like a hawk.itaff Thanks this.

Still on paper over here at RR LTL. But I believe moving the truck to another RR carrier or even new hires are required to go Elog. I haven't heard anything from corporate about my paper logs except a few months ago they said I had violations when I was doing 2/8 splits. I was able to prove to them the logs were legal and they backed off and removed the violations from my company file.
They do have a big carrot stick approach though, get a clean CSA inspection and get $1000 bucks. I'm still not interested.itaff Thanks this. -
It's getting tight out here on loads.. Just took accepted a load to California for $1.78 a mile, .02 of that is FSC ($38.00) lol
Never thought I would say this but sure would be nice if fuel went up just a little.. Haha -
Lol, a lot of lease ops are thinking the same thing, but don't worry, it will come soon enough.itaff Thanks this.

FSC ... should be revenue neutral. My gross was down 30% last year due to a lower FSC ... but my net was up 5%.itaff and scottlav46 Thank this.

Oh ... I know ... but if the FSC is needed to make your business model, you're doing something wrong.
I understand the trepidation ... I've watched my weekly gross revenues slowly spiral down. But on the other hand I'm filling my tanks for $300 - $400 instead of $700 - $900.whoopNride, itaff, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's funny, I was just talking to another driver about that very same topic..
He asked how we where doing, and I said well making less money per mile, but if you add in the fact that fuel is deflating cost operation cost..
Last year I would take a load to Wisconsin it would pay about 1.80a mile and .22 cents FSC for roughly $2.00 a mile + or - .02 cents.. So If I drive 500 miles I made about $1000.00 dollars. Out of that I see about $192.00 go to fuel at 6.5 miles to the gallon so $808.00..
Now I took a load up for $1.80 a mile + about .9 cents a mile for FSC.. So on 500 miles that was $945.00.. Fuel at 6.5 at a $1.70 a mile = $129.00 in the tank so my take home is $816.00 ( I made about $8.00 more dollars) lol... #'s are so funny sometimes.. Looks like I'm making less money, but in the end I'm $8.00 richer.. Lol
Crazy truck Drivers!! LolRERM, 88 Alpha and scottlav46 Thank this. -
Just the fact that you have to 'splain this is for some reason depressing to me lolJunkyarddog5958, RERM and itaff Thank this.
