After having my APU give me issues this past weekend, while I was on a layover of course ( funny how that works ) I decided to break down and purchase a bunk heater.

This is my first time ever having one of these in a truck, and from here forward I dont think I will own a truck without one. I like sleeping a lot better without the APU on...

It only got down to about 29 last night but I was ready to pull out the Graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows cause it was toasty as hell in my bunk. :biggrin_2553:

Bunk heaters are good, but gotta set it on like 62.
70=90 it seems when you awake.

It’s good to crank them full blast every so often to keep them clean. What I do is crank it on full heat when I start up truck at the beginning of my trip and use it to warm up interior of truck . This also help truck engine warm up faster due to no heat being siphoned off into the interior of cab.

little diesel bunk heater is my favourite piece of kit out of all of it. annual flame out troubles from the crappy bio diesel though, gets gummed up and won't stay lit unless it's set on 90 F

$1050 for the heater from Peterbilt.

APU shop installed which was around $300.
