So, the new drivers careers get ruined. But nothing happens to dispatch?

    Is that right?

The person operating the truck was likely held to blame and had to deal with the consequences. He may have been fired, or some lesser discipline. I don't really know, but to answer your question, yes. In the worst case scenario the driver would be fired and have a more difficult time finding work afterwards.

I may seem unfair to someone not familiar
with trucking, but any experienced driver will tell dispatch to go pound sand if they feel like they are being put in an unsafe situation. Fortunately, the law is on the driver's side within reasonable circumstances. It's an age old tale of dispatchers vs. drivers, but the law gives drivers the leverage they need, because ultimately they are accountable for the safety of themselves and those around them.

This is why I'm glad I came into the truck game with money. (I'm not rich) I've never operated when I was truly tired and/or can't because of the conditions. I had a buddy that was in need of cash operate without hours, bone tired because "dispatch told him to push through." He fell asleep and ran into the ditch.

He hasn't driven since. This was back in 2015.

Mr. Sarcasm, Thanks For The Clarification.

I was a wee bit inebriated for almost 2 decades starting in '75, plus other Ingredients, therefore My Memory Chips aren't all I believed Them To Be, If Belief were the only request.
I Became SOBER & Almost CLEAN In '92 But Not From Cigarettes.
So MANY Hard Rock, Medium Rock, Mild Rock, Disco, Country Tunes (HEE HAW), Rockabilly and "Other" Un Classified Music Heard since The Early 60's, It's a wee bit difficult most times to correctly diagnose Which Group Or Singularity Composed What Music or Melody.
    CHEERS!!

That explains it. Billy Gibbons and Mark Knopfler are way different voices.
