It amazes me all the talk about how bad it is to use one of these. I have had one in the truck for years. It is always handy. Even more so when my wife rode with me. I wouldn’t truck without one. You people who think it’s so bad, do you still use an outhouse at home? They sell the chemical packets or bottles that you put in it that keep the odor down and break down the waste so it is easily flushed. I wash mine weekly with bleach water also. To each his own. Just remember that because you don’t want to do it doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea.
I had an ex Marine as a trainee a few years ago. He really liked the clear plastic bins I had for storage, so I bought him one. One day, as I was at the wheel rolling through Memphis he said he needed to take a dump. With rush hour traffic it was going to be a while till I could get to a truck stop in West Memphis. I then smelled a fragrance. After a while I asked if he could hang in there another 20-30 minutes. "Naw, I took care of it". We deposited the sealed plastic container in a garbage bin when we had a shift change. What's that saying? Improvise, adapt, overcome. Good marine. Good trucker.
yea you dont want to get caught throwing out a steamer stuck in traffic. you would be amazed how much steam is produced in freezing temps. on the shoulder of the big road
I’m a newer driver and even I will go use the facilities regardless of load status. If it gets too stupid I’ll turn my phone off
I must admit I have taken a dump inside my truck about 4 times in my 6 years of trucking. I hate when you end up in a place where there are no restrooms and suddenly you feel the need to take a dump. There are people who must take a dump every day. I’m not one of them. My body is more like every 2 days, luckily.
