The thing that sucked on cabovers, aside from going to bed headfirst, leaving bed feet first, putting pants on while laying flat on your back, and trying to sit on dog house to put boots on, while not hitting gear shifter was bad enough.
But the transtar 2s were to short, head hit one wall, feet touched the other side of truck.

And the metal fan A/C sucked too.

Agreed though i want to find a 1950s 351 like the one my grandpa owned and upgrade it to a 3406B or even better a C15 if i can fit it in there and a smattering of modern upgrades like disc brakes. I miss that old truck, it got sent to kill though after the frame broke on a run. Many family stories about that thing and i got to run a few times with him.

The old ones look cool, in a Ford Mavrick/Chevy Vega kind of way. I wouldn’t want one. Too difficult all the way around. My 84” bunk could be bigger. Once you get used to something, it’s hard to go backwards.

Maybe if I ran NYC or somewhere like that all the time, I may want one just for the short wheelbase. However, I live in my truck and enjoy the space of my 780.

I started out driving cabovers and I don't miss them a bit.

Dad would come out of the house shaking his head at me and my brother “practicing”! Lol! I wouldn’t want to be climbing in and out of one anymore but back then it was fun!

just realized you can kind of tell the time frame by the picture of the picture! :D

So what's all the fuss, most of us were weened on cabovers. I actually liked the 4070 Transtar I drove. Besides, when you say "cabover", some fancy European job doesn't come to mind,,,this does. Put a new driver in this, they wouldn't make it a day,,,( they sure accelerated nice bobtail)

I have driven cabovers and have the scars to prove it. Both of my knees have been busted. Going to be difficult to put teams in these trucks. I understand fuel economy! I don't think this will work across the industry.
