Caledonia sounds like a pretty good place to work. When I was doing HazMat tanker at Quality Carriers I was usually impressed by the Caledonia trucks and people. It seems to be a quality outfit. Courtesy cars at the terminals is a nice perk.

Orientation is about 3 days and that includes pump training. Trucks are governed at 70

I'm still staying pretty busy. Even if I'm not getting crazy miles per week the extra pay adds up and my checks are still consistent.

Like the $100 "East pay" for example. I found out this month that the "East pay" is not just for crossing into Pennsylvania like I originally thought. I hauled a couple loads from Tennessee out to Virginia and got $100 extra on top of my mileage pay for each load. It was listed as "East pay". I'm not sure where the boundary actually is. Maybe it is a new change since I got hired because nobody told me, but I'm not complaining. My only complaint is having to go East so much is still bothersome for me. I wish I could never go East of the Mississippi River ever again. Hard to find a company that will do that, so I'll take my extra $100 for the East Coast loads, I guess. I'm not sure why I got so many loads going west for a month straight and then 2 months without a single one. I might bring it up to my dispatcher after my next home time at the beginning of July.

Running reefer, I always found that it was way easier to get loads out west during the wintertime than it was during the summertime. I've thought about moving out west just to "work the system" and forcing dispatches hands in getting me home every 3-4 weeks, thus ensuring consistent west coast and back runs year round.

They will have you get a rental car or u haul to orientation and you can bring everything for your truck if you want. When you get there the day before orientation they let you load all your stuff into your truck so when orientation is over you're ready to roll. They have a bunk house on site that you stay in and while it's a little dated it is pretty clean and there's two bathrooms each with a shower in them, towels provided. I believe I got $500 for orientation.

There is also a washer and dryer in the bunk house. If you're ever staying the night or taking a 34 in Caledonia you can use the washer and dryer in there any time. You can even get a room in the bunk house any time you want if you call ahead before you arrive.
