Hey John what is the company's policy regarding tolls?

Specifically loads to Washington going across I80 in Ohio and Indiana. Also loads from or to southern Cal, what about I44 in Oklahoma?

We have EZ Pass for all the northeast tolls, Pike Pass for the Oklahoma Turnpike. Any other tolls we pay cash for then hand in the receipt for reimbursement. Ohio and Indiana we run rte 30.

Time to go to work. Early start today and an even earlier start tomorrow. Later.

    RoadCall Thanks this.

Fabrikal del to Denver. Arrived the night before, scrounged up a couple of tow truck operators to block the connecting street, so I could back on to this street and avoid trying this blindsided. What you cannot see is the pile of rubble 3" from my tires and the class b truck a foot from my nose; both on the passenger side. The neighbors come out to watch anyone docking and gave me 4 of 5 stars.

Lol, yeah, good idea not trying to blind side.

Looks like fun from the drive side, :biggrin_25512:

I'm empty and sitting at the Petro up the street from the yard. What a long crazy trip this has been. (Sounds like a Dead song). I left the house at 5am Monday morning, used up 6 hours of my clock getting unloaded, met my wife for lunch then went up to Lake Wales to load. I spent 4 hours getting my load on then had just enough time on my clock to get to Haines City. This is the same trip I had last week that went on without a hitch. Not this time. Now I had to get up my second morning at the God awful time of 3am to finish my trip. I left Haines City at 5am Tuesday and stopped twice the whole day. I made it to the 33 mm in Va and called it a night....at 5pm. I woke up this morning at 2:30 am and was rolling at 3am. This is when I question the safety aspect of the H.O.S we have. When I stopped at 5pm I still was wide awake and could have finished the trip. Instead, I stopped as per the regulations. Someone explain to me how much safer it is to wake up at 2:30 in the morning and drive throughout the night half asleep when I could have finish the trip by 11pm? I know, all in the name of safety, for who, me and the tree I would hit if I couldn't stay awake? I had 370 miles to go and drove nonstop to Milton. I got there at 9am this morning, and was empty at 10:30.

Louie called me as I was leaving to ask me if I wanted to go west. I said yes and when I got back into my truck my reload info was waiting for me on my computer. It loads tomorrow afternoon with 2 stops in the bay area on Tuesday. My front end on my truck went out of balance this trip so they are replacing my steer tires in the morning. I'll do my reset after I get empty and will be loading in Salinas on Thursday.

One last thing, I was in safety today talking to Brian, Mort and Chris and heard 3 different times to mention them on the blog, I have no idea what to say about them except that when you walk into the safety department you are greeted by what looks to me like the 3 Stooges. There you go, I mentioned them.........lol

Not safe at all. What bothers me just as much is when I wake up 1 or 2 hours before I'm legal to drive and I am refreshed and ready after a good nights sleep, but the clock is telling me I'm still tired.

Yeah I totally agree on the current HOS bs. The 14 hr rule is garbage. I would have been lucky to get more than a couple hours of sleep by 3am.

So you met Chris today, he has been pretty good to deal with.

Good job mentioning the safety dept, lol.

My truck finally was done this afternoon. I was talking to Louie and asked him if it would be a problem if I picked up my trailer at our customer early in the morning. He said it wouldn't be an issue so I decided to do it in the morning. I got my truck, fueled, filled my DEF tank and went to the motel and got a room. Three reasons for this, one I can't get out to the bay area any sooner to do my reset so I'll get out there for Tuesday, deliver then start my reset. Second, I have been fighting a bad muscle spasm that won't go away since I left the house, so I went and bought a heating pad and hope resting overnight will ease this pain. And finally, the Miami Heat are on tonight to hopefully close out the series so I'll watch it and spend the night resting.

One other thing, I was questioned by the guys in safety as soon as I walked in this morning. They wanted to know why I called them The 3 Stooges. After spending the day watching what they go through and how the problems never stop, they should be the stars of Looney Tunes. I kid a lot about things but their job is definitely one that requires far more patience than I have.
