There is some sunshine in all this too......NOAA has detected a large body of warm water moving towards the left coast and hungry seals on the beach. Both are classic signs of El Nino and big rains coming. We talking big rains too. Mud slide type.

Be careful what you wish for , you might get it. Science guys have been known to be right.......

I have some almond acreage and I've cut my water back to the point where I can keep the trees alive but not really produce much of a crop. A lot of the nut growers are doing this. It's about protecting the trees until we get normal water supplies again. The trees might look good now but they're stressed and another dry summer might damage them beyond saving.
A lot of row crops just aren't being planted. Rice has cut way back. Canning tomatoes, melons, berries...you name it, there will be less of it.
We don't haul produce but I know some guys who do. They're worried...and they've hauled produce all their lives.
One of them said the other day that this year there might be more produce coming into California than going out.

Its slowly starting to fill back up due to mount Shasta snow melt. Take a drive out to Tuolumne County and go to Melones lake, its #### near back to river status, come September it will be a #### creek.

I must plead ignorance...I did not know there were almonds grown in Indio!

Do you dove hunt the opener?
