I was called/texted at 0600 to see if I was good to get a load 9 hours later. Woke me up at home. Are there rules they are ignoring or do I just have to turn my phone off now? Of course I could just ignore them going forward. Just curious if there were any legal ways. They don’t know if I was on a 10 hour break or not. If FMCSR didn’t take driver sleep seriously they wouldn’t have a lot of these rules.

Must have really infuriated you since you just joined TTR over a phone call, lol.

Just turn your phone off, really simple.

Not meaning to sound rude by any means, but working those kinds of things out is something that you need to have a sit down about with the appropriate dispatch or dispatcher manager.
This is Trucking and companies hire you with the expectation that you're gonna be available to move freight. So ya need to work out the scheduling as to how it works for you vs. how it works for your employer.

If your dispatcher calls you to make sure you are good to go before loads and you don’t want to be disturbed before you head off…. Maybe send them an email the night before confirming that you are. When they start their day, they’ll see the email. Give it a shot

i had a former boss call me on my off hours.

when i put all calls thru my answering machine, he'd load that up with his calls.

i told him flat out, "do not call me on my off hours, until maybe 1 hour before my time is up"

he didn't like that.......well too bad.

my time off was just that.......off time, don't bother me.

i lasted there maybe 2 months after that, he didn't seem to get the message.

I’d rather get a text from my dispatcher at 0600 than to be ghosted by him. I swear, sometimes he treats information like Scrooge McDuck treats gold coins!
