Real estate? No, I don't know what his problem was and neither do you. Maybe he reached his limit or maybe not? You assume something and being a dick about it as usual.

Sorry to hurt your feelings, you obviously still embarrassed of yourself. Don't try to blame others for that.

Look, if you were doing well from 2020 until now and you don't have any savings, that's a big problem. Most probably operating a trucking business is not a good fit for you.

You gotta chill out man....it ain't none of our places to count his pockets, or to speculate about his situation. You want to go right to the fact that he didn't have savings. He had some pretty massive breakdowns. Not only that, he has only had his own numbers since 2020, not very long at all. It's gonna take time to build a successful business. I have a hard time believing that new owner ops see profit right off the bat. Sometimes I ain't so sure the profit margin is that high even if the owner has been at it a while.

@zaroba can you work as a company driver for a while to get back on track?

The MX13 wasn’t your best choice. Another member has had worse luck than you with his.

One more breakdown and you are in a worse spot. You are already behind on bills. Cut your losses now and pay off the debt. Don’t be too proud.

We don't like to admit it when something isn't going good. I'd say it's probably time to jump ship, cause I don't think we've hit bottom.

Don't put your family in a tight spot to keep trying. Find some work elsewhere and don't look back. Keep in mind why this didn't work though. It will help you make better decisions down the road

    Two thoughts,

1 - park the truck and work for someone else, put the authority on hold until you come up even with your money.

2 - take the truck and trailer and run for another carrier, you already have the skills, maybe Landstar will offer you a means to move forward and come up even with your money.

The third thought is to sell everything and take a job locally, a driving job, but the other two are better options.

I’d probably think pretty hard about selling the trailer if that money can be used to cover some of the other loans. Leasing to a reputable carrier with their own freight base would then be a decent option. It won’t be “get rich” money but it will be money that you can count on every week when you go to work. Then you’d only have your truck and non trucking liability insurance to worry about.

If you sell everything and get a job would you make enough money to cover the debts and also set money back for taxes next year? You wouldn’t want to sell out and then be in a bind when the IRS wants their share in 2024.

If I could sell the trailer for at least 20k (2018 wabash dry van, no damage, hybrid metal/wood floor) it would certainly catch me up on everything with a lot left over.

It has crossed my mind numerous times. Think it's time to try once I manage to get my truck running again and deliver my load. Doubt I'll enough money left to renew my insurance anyway which means no driving to make money.

@zaroba ...... Sorry youre going through so much. We have all been there at some point or another in some situation whether we know it or not. Id say lease onto a carrier and get things straightened out...... Youll either come back with a resolve to get your authority back or see that you may enjoy being leased to a carrier.

Whatever you choose, I know it will work out for you.
