    Obey obey obey

you must obey, you shall not strive to better yourself outside the narrowly defined system that ensures wage slavery.

To your point, if youre in an accident bad enough that youre going to be investigated that thouroughly, pretty sure thats the least of your worries.

I can leave out at 9 pm on a weekend after working on my lawn for 8 hours and thats fine, but heaven forbid i cut my neighbors grass for an hour for 50 bucks and mess up my hours...

Live in the real world please

The answer is the latter, although you'll have a hard time convincing Uber/Lyft/Grub Hub/Door dash drivers that it is true. As a matter of fact, don't even try. They get very defensive when you try to explain the facts to them. I am a reliable source, due to the fact I tried the Uber/Lyft thing out of curiosity several years ago. Gross vs Net is a foreign concept to most people.

Personally, I installed an ELD on my lawn mower. But, I believe in safety first.

    Depends on where you live:
    • There? Yes.
    • Here? Only if it's a motor carrier, otherwise, no.

There are two answers to this question. Yes and No.

Yes, you can do almost anything you want when off that truck. There are no DOT cops hiding behind trees with binoculars watching your every move. As @Chinatown correctly said there are many drivers that do other things. However, ----

You can NOT legally work past those weekly hours. In the very rare situation when you are the subject of an investigation after an accident making a habit of violating 395 can cost a lot of ------

And if you get into an accident with the truck, you may be asked about your other work and you can’t lie.
