Your lucky if your wait was only 24 hours, part of hauling meat is the wait. Did my fair share while leased to Cargill. Mainly went to Milwaukee out of Schyuler and waited everytime, even dropped a load that tested positive for e-coli off there on my way somewhere else. I enjoyed my time there back when it was good money. Was hard to be one of those 11 hour drivers though and met a few cops that knew it.

Just picked one up from the one in Friona TX, with it raining. What a miserable, muddy mess. 4" of mud in the drop yard, truck would barely steer, much less pull the trailer out after loading. I really appreciate the yard goons stuffing it so close to the other trailers that I could barely get to the landing gear, which were severely bound up from the goat pulling out crooked. And only $42 for a 90 second "wash out." Oh yeah, and the left rear trailer tire being flat. It's holding air fine, I suspect they spun it around on it's own wheelbase with it loaded and "burped" the bead a bit

I've only done drop/hooks at Friona but that was bad enough. I don't miss the Friona plant but I do miss some of the cherry meat loads (d/h) we did out of Dodge. Moved a bunch of loads out of Plainview before they shut it down. I've since moved to another carrier now who does not haul any fresh meats, anywhere.
RustyChops41 and Joe Dan Thank this. -
