    If temps are below 0 then run it on continuous. For the same reason you wouldn't shut off your truck. The fuel will gel in a reefer just like anything else. If the trailer is newer, they use better insulation now so on a protect from freeze on a start/stop cycle will barely use any fuel, unless once again you're in sub-zero temperatures where you'll have to run it on continuous.

    Older trailer, colder temps, figure close to 1 gallon an hour, newer trailer, not so cold, half gallon an hour. Those are my thoughts.
