I'm getting ready to purchase a utility trailer that has the carrier 7300 x4 and the only carrier unit that I'm familiar with is the 2500. Can someone tell me the difference between the two? Thanks for any info...

The 7300 is much better on fuel than the 2500 .

The 2500 series is a lot quieter than the 7300. You can tell when someone is pulling a 7300. It reminds me of a LCAC coming on shore

Been doing homework on a later model refrigerated trailers recently, and I am pretty sure the 7300 and 2500 have same BTUs-66,000 max. The 7500 goes to 68,000 BTU. Supposedly the X4s get more BTU/gal fuel burned than the X2s. I think both still use the 05G compressor that has been around forever.

I am getting ready to upgrade to a later model reefer and have been doing some homework. The Carrier X2 2500 and the X4 7300 have the same maximum 66,000 BTUs. The X4 7500 gets 68,000 BTUs, and the X2 2100 gets 64,000 BTUs. The X4s made improvements to get more BTUs/gal fuel burned. All of them still use the 05G compressor that has been used forever (I had one in an old 1995 Phoenix Advantage). I suppose over the years the metals in the compressor have been improved to take the greater BTU demands.
