The casinos on the IA side at the Quad Cities are both building land based casinos, that would be Rythym City and Isle of Capri, while Jumers in Moline is called a riverboat but is built to emulate a boat.
Isle properties have good deals on food, others are more expensive from what I have found and the buffets at Hollywood properties are open only on weekends.
I liked parking at Hollywood Joliet but haven't much reason to hang around there lately (no longer do that drop).
In Sioux City, the Argosy riverboat has departed, shortly after the Seminole tribe opened a Hard Rock. At least as far as I know.
Mt.Airy in the south Poconos off I 80 is not far from Mohegan Sun. I didn't check for truck parking.
LadyLuck/Isle of Capri has properties in IA, MO, and outlying in PA, MS, TX, FL, and probably more.
The close one to where I reside has table games on the boat, while most of the others have poker rooms, and even Jumers in Moline has a poker room.
Been to many and I look at the whole operation. I'm most familiar with the Isle properties, and Waterloo is close and Marquette,IA is real close.0 -
Can't remember the name of the casino in Mesquite, NV, but it's the one across the street from the pay to park lot. It's about $12 per day to park IIRC. Couple years ago I took a 34 there.
I only play poker, as I enjoy making money instead of losing money. Unfortunately this casino didn't spread any no limit games, at least during my stay. They only had a $4/8 limit game populated with locals that played tight, a hard game to make any money. However, the bonus was signing up for a player's card. With 8 hours play you get comped a free hotel room. That was a treat with 110° temperatures during the day! I did manage to clear $85 dollars for 8 hours play, almost burger flippin income... -
My vote is for route 66 casino outside Albuquerque, NM on I-40. Lots of truck parking and a shuttle bus to take you to the casino if you don't want to walk.
The buffet is the best I have ever had. They have everything and I mean everything! Mexican, Chinese, Italian, beef, pork, chicken and a pasta bar to die for.
I think it's $15. You pay before you go in. I have the girl a $20 and she gave me back $15. I didn't want her to come up short on her register so I told her she gave me too much change. She said, oh no honey, it's only $5 for seniors. I was like, son of a #####! -
