Cat C15 ACERT - blown head gasket - Worth an overhaul?

    I know guy who rebuilt one of my engines, he is a cat guy, but he rebuilt a cummins for me, over 90k on it now with no problems, but he’s in Arkansas, but was only 20k parts and all, with new oil pump, AC compressor and water pump.
    Dealer Shop wanted 35k.

    I have never seen a CAT put oil in the radiator with a head gasket problem. The reason it spits the coolant out is the oil going in the radiator causes it to get to full and the excess is gonna want out. Oil pressure is greater than coolant pressure when running so that pushes oil into radiator. Now when you shut down that process reverses and coolant drips into oil pan.
    Honestly it’s not real common on CAT for a head gasket to put coolant in the oil. It takes a really bad water grommet cut in two to do that just about. Then the coolant runs on top of the piston it’s closest to. Coolant in oil is usually a water pump, or liner problem of one kind or another. Head gasket issues will also put black flakes in your coolant 99 percent of the time

    I wonder how some these guys stay in business
