Caterpillar outsourcing jobs

Maybe it'll be a good thing. I mean the engineers they had did a lot of completely stupid things when designing the equipment. Case in point: who puts an oil filter in such a place that I need to remove the battery every 500 hours just so I can change the oil?

 

Just think that is 300 people that have to go home that night and explain their job is going to be done by a foreign worker with no roots in the community, and they will most likely have to train them. This is what is wrong with this country, greed trumps the worker.

 

Not only greed, but the average consumer is an idiot. They say they want to support domestic manufacturing and yet they don't want to pay $1000 for a product made here when they can buy the same thing made overseas for $500. The workers are just as much to blame as the corporations IMO.

 

nah, they will jet use up all the expensive corporate jets to fly back and forth

 

300 new truck driving school students.

 

Cat is also closing a big plant in Europe.
Looks like Cat is downsizing.

 

It's not a recovery, it's a bounce.

 

Can't wait to see what this does to Caterpillar's stock value.
