I'm getting a digital cobra 29LX to put in my ford ranger so I can talk to truckers and traffic if needed. I'm looking for a antenna that will work long rang and don't know what would work because I'm still new to all this but would like something under 100 if possible but can go over 100 if needed, Thanks

Striker A-10 magnet mount is a good start.
Get the radio ‘peaked and tuned’ if it can be - or consider buying an older one that has been worked on.
What’s your 20? There’s still a few good CB shops around. -
Thanks I'll grab one of those and see how it goesblairandgretchen Thanks this.

Actually - skip the magnet mount and get a regular A-10, mount it on a secure bracket at the front corner of the bed, and run a ground wire to anywhere on the frame -
Get a good quality co-ax , run it back there, should work pretty good.
Most radio issues are in a poor antenna setup - not the radio.High Stepper Thanks this. -

d o g Thanks this. -
If you go with the bracket idea - you can get most all the connections from a decent truck stop.
Better still - a good CB shop can sell you the few parts you’ll need without having to guess on line shopping. -
Sounds good I'll make sure to get a mount mocked up for it, then mount it and get a ground. Would the coax that comes with it work so would you recommend buying a different oneblairandgretchen Thanks this.

Yeah - check out the guy at Hoods truck stop west of you. Jim I think. I’ve had work done before with him, he’s good.
