False advertising! It's not a CB Radio - it's a 10 meter amateur radio.
So Exactly What Is The Difference Between 10 Meter Radio And CB Radio?
To legally use it you must have an amateur radio ("ham") license from the FCC. It won't broadcast or receive on channel 19. 14 questions and 119 reviews here.Last edited: Apr 21, 2022
TooTiredToTalk, Brettj3876 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
10 meter radios can be converted to run CB frequencies. Stryker, Galaxy, Quad5 are all 10 meter, but changing a jumper position and tweaking a couple settings makes them CBs.
Once upon a time there were rumors of the FCC walking by trucks with meters to see who was putting out more than 4w, but all those rumors pretty unsubstantiated. I run a 150w Galaxy and have run 200w Strykers.Dadetrucking305, TooTiredToTalk and Brettj3876 Thank this. -

Are the strikers a good radio? I have a cobra 29 w a peak and tune it’s at 35w currently.
Wondering if it would be worth upgrading to a better radioflood and TooTiredToTalk Thank this. -
That 3300 is a good radio if it's been converted for CB instead of 10 meter. I have the General Lee version and it's a nice setup.

Have a 497hpc I love it. Really gets out there and the sound quality is crystal clear. Road king mic and a fire stick
Plus the Stryker has a bunch of cool color settings LolLast edited: Apr 22, 2022

When I spend $400-500 on a radio, I want it to work. Learn on someone else's radioTooTiredToTalk Thanks this. -
Good radio
Forget the peak and tune crap, don’t believe it makes the radio work better, most of the time it doesn’t,
find a good shop that will make the conversion and properly align it for you the right way
focus on your antenna, don’t get into the trucker type big rig good buddy dually crap, go with a single antenna and good coax with good grounds to support the antenna system - you can learn a lot from the cb forum here.
the radio is 20% of the signal, the antenna, proper ground and coax is 80%.wis bang, TooTiredToTalk and HoneyBadger67 Thank this.
