Once you have your CDL A to add HazMat almost everything can be done on your own. Your employer isn't involved normally unless they offer to pay for it. Some do, some don't.
HazMat requires
1. CDL
2. Pass computer test (study free online TruckerCountry.com or phone app)
3. Fingerprints ($86 fee)
4. TSA background check
5. Replacementof plastic CDL license card

I'm sure a company that rejected you for weight will reconsider you if you are below their cutoff. They MIGHT want you say 25 lbs under the 300 if you were rejected before, but I doubt it. That's probably just my anxiety & imagination working overtime.
I beg you not to be overly negative right now. What you've described sounds minor to medium AT MOST. It's nowhere near a really tough path like happens a lot in last few years. We see multiple DUIs, no work in 5+ years, failed drug tests left & right, etc. You are nowhere near that kind of difficulty, IMO, and I'm usually just barely able to keep my cool with those situations. I would say you are wasting your time if I thought so. I don't see that AT ALL.Happy405 Thanks this. -

I was able to get ahold of the hiring person at Swift that could tell me why i wasn't hired and sent home half way into orientation day.
They were going through my work history and decided that the first reason was that I had changed jobs too many times since i graduated high school in 2020. On my resume i listed 8 jobs, 5 that were fast food and 2 that were gas stations and all i worked at for 2-5 months and all i left because at every one, when i was hired I was told they would make me full time (40 hour weeks) and all ended up only giving me part time (20 or so hours a week). Regardless, that is too many places and I am a job hopper now. They also felt that the biggest problem aside from moving to different companies too frequently was that In June of 2022 when I worked as a oilfield pipe cleaner I quite on the third day with no one to two week notice given to that company, i just told my boss i wasn't coming back and didn't return the following day. Doesn't matter the person next to me was killed when a pipe rolled off a forklift and crushed him to death and work was stopped long enough to clean up then resumed without a care.
I guess don't try to explain anything cause they don't care is what I learn from this? Thanks for the suggestions and recommendations just wanted to share what i found out.Chi Town Steers Thanks this. -

This one isn't trucking, but does require long distance driving.
Dispatch yourself through a phone app.
