Yeah, that's psychology for ya. You've been beat over the head with "argumentum ad populum" since you were in the womb. "X is the best selling Y!"
Means zilch, if not less. Most people are not very bright, or advertisers and politicians would stop trying to use that fallacious premise.

Goggle : Ticket Clinic if you need a lawyer, instead of paying a monthly fee.
harlycharly55, blairandgretchen and Stile Thank this. -
Just about anyone can call a court clerk or judge and get a ticket reduced, changed or dismissed, or anything else that the pre-paid "lawyers" do. Save your money.
harlycharly55, TomOfTx and blairandgretchen Thank this. -
And so lets say you got a ticket for something 3,000 miles away and you can't make it back to court, because your company doesn't have anything to get your there. So now you have missed a court date, and there maybe a warrant for yout arrest.
At least with the program, they send a lawyer for you, for instances just like I describe. Any one can get a ticket for anything. ALWAYS fight the ticket.

Legal Shield(Pre-Paid Legal) only costs me about $180.00 per year. I haven't used it much, take it off your taxes as a business expense.

Heres the deal about those prepaid dohickeys:
You pay a regular monthly fee. If you need them, they charge you extra money. You give them your ticket number, and other info and then they ask you if you are willing to plead guilty. "What?!?!?!?!? I'm not contacting and paying you people to plead guilty." So they supposedly get a local law firm to show up and represent you in court. Worse thing is, if its an inspection, those points STILL show up regardless.
They dont show up for court, they make a telephone call to the judge or the clerk. How hard can it be to talk to a judge or a clerk, and get a ticket reduced? So, I will call the courthouse myself. The judge or the clerk will change things, give you the total of what you need to pay and email you a receipt.blairandgretchen and fuzzeymateo Thank this. -
A mentor to me way back when I started driving used to tape a $100 bill to the back of his CDL. He never did receive any tickets, though he was pulled over a time or two, so I guess that was his version of "pre paid legal"!
fuzzeymateo Thanks this. -

I've only used it a few times in many years, but it never cost me extra. Just call them and say where you need a lawyer and they put you in contact with one.
