Thanks for help everyone with your answers.

Question though: If one receives a CDL A license in New York (with all endorsements), does that allow him to work in another state?

Yes, but if you move to that state you will have to transfer your license within the period of time that is mandated by that state

You do not get your TWIC card by taking an online course. You have to pay about $128 and go to a local processing center to have your fingerprints scanned in. You than wait for your information and background check to go through and come back clean. If it does, they either send you the card and pin in the mail or you can opt to pick it up at the site you scanned everything in at. As for the OSHA class, you should contact your local OSHA office and find out where they offer that if it is a requirement for some reason or another.

Theres an OSHA 10 for "General Industry" and one for "Construction" Some differences are construction mentions hand and power tool safety, climbing ladder, caught between hazard. General may differ with "activities that can lead to MSD and RMD injury and illness" and might do a little more with hazmat, but really hard to tell from an outline. Beyond that they are covering a lot of the same stuff. Matter which one you have?

I briefly checked on where and what I needed for HazMat application but hadn't researched TWIC yet. You would think that you could do a TWIC card at the same time you do Hazmat. Is there any crossover/duplication on the agencies involved? Can having one speed up getting the other or does the bureaucracy get in the way of trying to do it "different" and more efficiently.

No having one does not speed up the other. Both are an FBI background check but are for 2 totally different things. You can do both at the same time, but still have to pay 2 separate payments have "scheduled" 2 separate appointments even though they will most likely process them both at the same time.

A friendly suggestion - put location in your profile, not just in one reply to a post

    Regards
