Yup. I'll gladly represent a the company, wearing uniform if they wish. But I will NOT be their slave.

I'm really curious what they're going to charge on those weekly notes on the Lonestars.

Sounds to me that a seasoned driver would go to Celadon because they have too many infractions on their license and nobody else wants them...

I drive for RG Transport...I'm not sure what 2 people you are talking about??? The guy running the company has worked for RG Transport for over 7 years??? and all of the other employeesi n the office have been there longer than that??? As far as the "Old Timers" are concerned I happen to be one of them and the company is as good or better than its ever been. If you didn't make any money here you might want ot take a good look in the mirror!!! You just need to let them run you and take the loads and backhauls without trying to "second guess" thier decisions, they do a great job of planning. The company is owned by the same people that own Red Gold and I am certain they wouldnt let it get ran into the ground...I run at least 2500 miles a week EVERY week, my driver manager does a great job keeping me moving...and they just gave a pay raise and increased the safety bonus to 4 cents per mile!!! All of the equipment is new...If you couldn't run with the big dogs at RG Transport maybe the retirement thing was a good decision!!! RG Transport is a great company and I would recomend it to any driver, they are a great company that takes great care of thier employees!!!

You can keep those 13 letter doo-doo spreaders, IMO they are just plain ugly as sin. Even the Cascadia, Columbia, and Volvo 600 and 700 have grown on me, I thought those were hideous when they came out.

Not to mention I had a some bad, bad experiences being stuck in a Prostar a few years back. I actually thought the Prostars were somewhat nice looking...too bad we had to make multiple trips to dealer every month for the same air lines leaking, failed regen issues. I think the cab and sleeper were designed by those with lesser intellegince, or those who hate truck drivers. It chewed up steeer tires every 30000 miles. Very inferior and subpar to the 9000 series they replaced.

The lonestar reminds me of a giant Chrysler PT Cruiser, with prettt much the same idiotically laid out interior as the Prostar.

Lease purchase programs are mega-carriers just taking advantage of the impatient, the uninformed, and the self-deceived. Unfortunately, by the time many have learned their lesson, it has cost them their time, money, family, possibly even a career. But I have to agree: I don't think the driver involved in a lease contract is victimized. It's a buyer-beware situation. Caveat Emptor. It is certainly a sad fact, though, that megas will sell the L/P as an O/O knowing full well it's not the same, simply to improve a bottom line which is already worth hundreds of millions.

In short, you end up being treated like a company driver, paid less when its all said and done, on top of making your bosses truck payment.

Actually, this equates to impatience. In these cases, if a little more time had been taken to save a little more money for a bigger downpayment or to work on one's credit score, the pains and problems of the L/P could be avoided. Mega carriers preying on the impatient.
