Any company with driver facing cameras has a no touch policy hand's free talking.
No driver facing camera you can do what you want.

I have heard that Walmart is very stiff with enforcing with their phone policy. A friend of mine ran for Fedex for 2 yr and never complained

    Walmart policy.
Your are allowed to talk, while driving, in 10 minute intervals with no longer than 1 total hour in your 11. They also do not want you talking during rush hour traffic. You can talk as much as you want when not driving.

WRONG. Try getting a ticket for talking while holding your cell phone while driving and see how well that goes over with your company.

Walmart policy is NOT like the horror story their policy was in the past. I believe you be hired you had to authorize Walmart to access your phone records and at one time they either would compare your cellphone call and text records with your ELD, or they gave you a brief period to supply those phone records once the company demanded them and then matched them with your driving record. BACK in those days, as the scuttlebutt said, some drivers gave WM access to a burner phone which they seldom used.

Whatever the reality of the policy, that policy is no longer in force. It is much more reasonable now than the rumors that are probably still widespread.

I may adopt the strict policy for my company, I hate staying in the phone all day anyway.

I had a postal worker who always was on the phone, she drove like crap, ended up hitting someone and still she was transferred but still on the phone.

I have a simple policy, you are not to be on the phone WHILE DRIVING for any reason - period.

You get a call, you find a place to pull over and call the person back.

You get caught (ticket or inspection), you are fired.

I have made this as a change after one of my drivers was on the phone and caused an accident, not a serious one but enough damage to cost us a lot of money.
