I’m not saying that they will for sure. I do think that some companies will cut their pay.
As far as who would work there after a pay cut. People hire on to companies like western express and Chicago 1099 outfits.

    $25 x 40 = $1,000. $30 x 40 = $1,200, not $1,500.

Well with a little overtime put in it would be close.

The point is someone can make decent money and be home every night. Be with family. Why would someone do a low pay trucking job?

    Elections have consequences
    Enjoy the bidenflation

bonuses are always always always structured so they don’t have to pay them.
Bonuses are just BS for the recruiters to spew to the new driver recruits .

Yeah but there wasn't 10% inflation then. Food and housing was affordable. Look at the price of fuel.

Another thing is we don't know how long this inflation lasts. What happens when it gets to 15%?

We can talk all day about this but bottom line salaries have to go up.

If freight rates drop how do you expect companies to pay drivers?
Companies are already trimming the fat.

That’s fine for a few truck outfit. What are you going to do with hundreds of trucks?

Stick to contract freight and away from the spot market.
