CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

Yeah they said come August we should have another yard near Orlando. They are working in the deal now.

 

I’m curious being a new driver for the company if I can expect any pay raise. That would be lovely and an Orlando drop yard makes my life so much easier!!!

 

I would honestly say probably not. I think its more geared towards drivers who have been here a whilem.if we see any pay increase it'll most likely be small. But again that's just my opinion. I could be 100% wrong lol I know I hope they take off the pay cap. My finisher has been with the company 23 years. Training for 20 of those years. And he can't make any more raises. Which he is close to retirement but even still..you should never stop being able to get raises. Especially since he's been there so long.

 

Well it says they’re gonna shorten the pay bands meaning instead of 100k miles to get 40 cents maybe it’ll be 80k etc so we may not see an increase but we will see raises faster than those that came before us

Does anyone know if caffeine pills are legal for drivers? I hate coffee and I really gotta get off these exapensive ### 5 hour energies that are also really bad for you

 

They all mess with your natual sleep. I drove team with a 20 year driver. He said if you're tired, take a nap. Period. And make it count. If you set an alarm for 30 min but you're still tired, you need to sleep more. By law the company can't hassle you. If you're going to be late let them know you were fatigued. Sometimes I'm out for a couple of hours and I do not sweat it. The product in the back is not more important than my safety.

 

In the conference call they mentioned shortening the time from 7 years to something less to reach the top tier.
