My truck automatically brakes without warning about once or twice a month. It will do this whether I am using the cruise control or not. There are places where I've come to expect this panic stop, and it will happen maybe 10% of the time I'm driving there and then there are the times I am driving on a section of road I've never been to, no traffic anywhere in sight, and it is triggered by a high overhead interstate exit sign or am overpass 15 feet over the road. The next 40 times I drive under that sign, no panic stop. So far, in 18 months of pulling HazMat tanker it hasn't attempted a panic stop when all of the following exist: road traction reduced, I'm loaded with a sloshing trailer, have other vehicles very near me, in a curve. When it does panic stop under all of those conditions, someone including my heirs are going to get rich.

Do you get paid while in school? Looking at my finances and various companies that offer a school and trying to get my start but also need to pay my bills and feed my family. My number 1 choice was maverick but i just found out it could be 6 weeks before i see i check.. no bueno. Any recent grads on here that can shed some light? Would prefer to hear from actual drivers first before talking to professional liars aka recruiters..

Hey, so in short no. You will not get paid for schooling, however you do get $105/wk. to help pay for food while you are there. This is how they say they provide 3 meals a day. In all reality, the hotel provides 1 meal, then the other days it is up to you to provide yourself with 2 meals, using the money they gave you. Make sure that you try your best to bring food with you (from Walmart or Kroger *Make something and take it with you*) unless you drive yourself. There is no cafeteria on the premise if you go to Trainco in Perrysburg, OH. So, basically that money again is to give you food. You can try to pay a small bill out of it if you want; just make sure you have food! Other than that no other money until Orientation. Orientation only gives you $50 cash then they give you $75 on the EFS card which will be issued to you on your last day of orientation. The company provides Lunch and the hotel covers breakfast. You have to pay for dinner. Any other questions, feel free to ask

Just talked about it in "Whats your 20?" Not yet
They say Monday supposedly. Still at home. I guess there is a shortage of finishers?

Thanks for all your updates.
I’m following with interest as I may work for CFI soon.
If for some reason, in the future, you do decide not to remain with CFI, can you please let us know why?
Reason I ask is that quite often, a new driver comes aboard, goes through training, gets their own truck, and all while they are posting their experiences in real time......and then they vanish like a puff of smoke.
Leaves one to wonder... “what the heck happened”? -
I'll definitely explain if in the future I ever leave CFI. Hopefully (and I am being optimistic here), I have found my one and done company
With all my wife's health issues, I would believe that would be the only real reason I would quit to be honest. But, never know
