One of their old bullnose kw’s had been sitting in a junkyard outside of New Braunfels for close to 50 years.

That sucks, especially this time of year. But, at least you (being a truck driver) can be employed again in a week if you want.

I'm fairly certain? I know there is Central with the yellow trucks, and then there is Central out of texas. We are talking about the one in texas.

But I also thought that both companies did ltl. Maybe I'm wrong about that.

Both do LTL, Moyes purchased Central Freight Lines out of TX.
Matty Maroun owned Central Transport (yellow trucks) till he died. I think his son runs it now. Also owned the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit and Canada.

Having spent time at both CFCC and CF close to the times they were purchased/closed respectively, I feel for those guys at Central. Central used to be a good company I don’t know how they were recently

As far as I know the CFL terminal in San Antonio also was a Swift hub and became a Swift drivertraining school also after the buyout 20 years ago. It was around that time that I noticed the fleet started to become second hand swift equipment.

Anyone familiar with this area would know that this is were all the “driver in training” swift trucks come from that are all over the streets on the east side of the city.

I didn’t realize it was 20 years since the purchase, time flies! Most of you guys should get scooped up pretty quickly. It was a pretty good group of longer lived folks at Central wasn’t it?

tbats actually directed at the Jstokely, replied to wrong post, sorry
