    Hi drivers!
Need your advice. How many chains and what size do you carry?
    Thanks.

Sorry forgot to mention. I mean transport chains (to secure load) not a tire chains.

Depends where you go. Look up the states where you'll travel and see.
I believe WA calls for having enough to do 9 individual tires. But you won't be made to put all of them on all the time

    6 drives
    2 trailer
    1 spare.

Size depends on your tire size.

I thought this was what he was asking, but he was asking securement chains! I don't know what either one is, My tire chains stay in the box and rot! I don't throw chains of any kind, but that is just a preference, that doesn't make me a steering wheel holder rather then a truck driver, but if you think it does then that is your opinion! I'm not going to argue with you unless your ID is PattyJ annd she is just looking for someone to argue with! :biggrin_25519:

Buy 25 foot 5/16" grade 70 steel chains. I buy mine at Utility Trailer and find that they are the least expensive. American steel is best. Also if buying binders, make sure to get the red binders as they are American steel and won't bend.

I don't drive flatbed but you never know. If I may ask...how often do chains break?

    This is what I carry;
    3/8 x 10' 4ea, 3/8x6' 4 ea, 3/8x 20' 8ea 3/8 x 2' 8 ea
    1/2 x 10' 4 ea, 1/2 x4' 4 ea
all my 10' & 4' have "J" and grap hooks
I carry 2 5/16 x 20' but they are for (just in case chains) I don't put a whole lot of faith in 5/16 chains
2 complete sets of auto hooks.
I don't haul a flat though but I would still carry all of the above except the 1/2"
I use tri city tarp for my stuff but we get a heck of a discount there
