You do understand if you show on duty driving for less than 5 minutes then turn the truck off before 5 minutes that you will revert back to whatever previous duty status you were on?

In other words ANY duty status doesn't reflect on the log you will file until you have been on the status for greater than 5 minutes. Even. Though the qcomm screen shows you as being on duty driving.

Like this morning. That J near Carlisle shows as 1.3 miles from the oc. I should have flipped to drive line prior to getting there , yes? (Parameters tab reflects at .7 miles change in duty status on my truck)When I shut it off to fuel, my status showed on duty period. At 23 minutes. Which was pti , waiting to exit gate, waiting at the light at US 11 then getting into a fuel island. On duty not driving only shows on my graph.

Note the activity vs break box at the bottom. Read the last line .

Mickey laid it out, however I will work on getting 100% confirmation today if possible. I would note that in the examples in the PDF that SNI is showing how it should be logged, you don't really think they are gonna show the 5 minute threshold how a driver may possibly kinda sorta cheat their log on one of their official documents do you?

Ok so in the example of the guard shack you lose 13 minutes by checking in ?

Imagine tunkhannock or even the OC or trailer inspection in Laredo it's gonna kill the 11 and 70

A lot of customers have long lines at the gate, sometimes a couple hrs to get checked in. Since your moving the truck every 10-15 minutes this will absolutely destroy your hours for the day.

Its implied if you read it carefully.

When I shut down I will request an emailed copies of my last 8 days. To see what the text version shows.

Todays graph has a black line on line 4 at the time I was line 3 briefly.

Unless you keep on that screen and keep going back to line 4.

Personally I think SNI needs to come off with better guidance.

LTL is looking better all the time!!!

Alright so, I've spoken with my Dbl, one other and I'm waiting on a call back from the osr that sent out the qc message...

Right now, it looks like our electronic nanny has been reprogrammed to become an electronic tattletale.

We move, we're driving. Period. At this point, it looks like the 5 minute interval is going to be kept, but the caveat is that as soon as you cross over into full driving mode, it will go back and "edit" your logs to show driving time.

That being said...I think most of us can easily come up with a way around it, but until it rolls out nobody will know what works.

Alright... Coming from the osr, from the SNI CEO himself...

"If your wheels are moving, time is ticking."

Sounds like if you move, you're logged. The osr is going to get back with me on moving only a couple feet (moving for 30 seconds or less.). But at the moment, I'm in agreement with him. At the moment, it's all theoretical and is complete BS.

The story behind the change is that some unnamed company (SNI says they lay no claim to asking.) went to the dot and asked for clarification for e-logs. The DOT ruled on it from there.

That's fine then but the DOT inspectors need to show some lenience for short drive intervals moving off docks when the 14 has expired or moving about during the 30 minute break stuff like that that is for sure a money violation.
