    You will need to buy their obd port thing so it can read ur truck ecm. Other than that it doesnt cost anything monthly or yearly unless u want ifta tracking. Ive been using it free for years now. Paid 250 to buy their obd port.

    Makes no sense to track the truck, other than using its location information to set rates in locations based on capacity.

    Tracking should be placed on the product in the trailer, as it can be swapped or off loaded. Seems to make more sense that way if they really want to combat fraud or theft. Samsara has just introduced a load tracker that is paper thin, looks like a shipping label, placed directly on the carton.

    Giving into Highway and their ridiculous rules is not going to end the theft or fraud in the industry.

    There are hundreds of ELDs registered with FMCSA, including many integrated with Highway, so it would be hard for anyone to say what's the cheapest one integrated with Highway. You will probably just have to shop around. Some you could try are:
    HOS247
    Route One ELD
    ELD Rider
