The info I pulled up is based on what’s on file with FMCSA. It says they have 100 trucks but only 70 drivers, and that info is current as of today(it’s updated daily).

Actually driver and truck info is updated via the mcs-150. So it can be anywhere from now to two years old.
The inspections are updated weekly though.

The mcs-150 date is listed though.

I would find it VERY surprising that a company with 100 trucks only has 10 drivers. Not saying it’s not true, but I just have a hard time buying that. That would make zero business sense, especially since he could put someone in the truck at .60 cpm and still be better off than not running the truck.

Could be it's just that bad of a company. Maybe no one want to drive for 'em.

There might be more drivers working here, but I can assure you there are more trucks sitting than moving. Most of the trucks, at least 70 out of 100, are currently sitting.

My point out of all this is that this company has more loads sitting and waiting to be delivered. Some of the loads have been sitting around a better part of 3 weeks, may be longer, because of thr lack of drivers in the right areas.

How do they get away with that? If I was a shipper or a customer and my load had been sitting in the trailer for three weeks I think I'd be all about finding out why.

The real impact of the HOS and ELD,s is starting to show up. Fixing a regulation that is not working for all by throwing more regulations is showing its ugly head. Some companies will not survive because they are stuck in the old way. Equipment being sold at auctions is getting quite large.

This has nothing to do with ELDs. ELDs have been around for years.

If anything, the ELD mandate just exposes companies that were poorly managed to begin with. Now they can’t run some poor scmuck, that doesn’t know any better, into the ground 18 hours a day.

Anyone that says ELDs are putting them out of business obviously wasn’t running legal to begin with.

Now, I agree with that there are definitely some flaws with the HOS regs, but they’re the same regs whether you’re on paper or ELD.

Same regulations, different ways to bend the rules. I prefer paper.
