Ok ,install the gauges(might have to watch youtube video if you never done it) check what the pressure is without running the reefer.The pressure should read the same on both gauges,if there is little or no pressure the reefer is out of freon,you will have to pressurize and leak check system.If the pressure is significant,say 40 to 100 psi,depends on the temperature where you live,then run on cool.Set the temperature at its lowest setting,after a few minutes the engine should go onto high speed,let it run until the box comes down to about 30f .Write down what the suction and discharge pressures are.There is a long vertical tank above the battery with a round sightglass on it,make sure the white ball in it is floating,if it is then freon is ok.Now raise setpoint so the unit will go onto heat,observe your suction and discharge pressures as they should immediatly change,if they don't then the 3 way valve didn't shift into heat.Let me know if that's the case,might be the pilot solenoid coil.
