That seems so rare these days, finding some that'll help you, let alone teach you something at the same time too. Most of them would rather be keyboard/CB warriors and sit there talking trash about how all new drivers are ruining everything & don't know anything.

Why should they teach when a younger generation of truckers have an entitlement attitude? New truckers these days want everything now, and are not willing to pay the dues like the older truckers.

Have you seen todays young truckers? PJ bottoms, holes in their shirt, sandals, smelling to high heaven. They come here and ask questions about a joint they "accidentally smoked" and want to know if they can pass a drug test. They are on here asking if they can hook up video games in their trucks. I mean c'mon man.

There's some of us that don't act like that, and some of us that still know how to dress. Just because we're under whatever age or however many months of experience doesn't automatically make us all trashy jackwagons.

Personally, I'll be 27 this month, but I've been on my own and homeless a few times since 17. I've worked my ### off to have anything I have and survive, and I know all too well I'm not entitled to jack ####. I'll also admit I'm a big mother****er, but I take pride in dressing decently (especially not like some of these idgits with their guts hanging out or skin tight shirts) and showering regularly.
Yes, there are quite a few, but that doesn't apply to all.

And if someone wants to play video games or watch some movies on their system, what skin off your back is that? How people spend their free time shouldn't be of concern, unless it's illegal and/or affecting others' safety.

If you use or are planning on using a GPS system when you are driving on your own, don't assume that they are always right. They are frequently wrong and can really mess you up. I use GPS and when I go someplace I am not familiar with, I also use Google Maps to physically look at my delivery location to make sure I can easily get to the dock, and what the best route is for my rig to get to it. Routing is also frequently wrong, so you better get used to getting good at trip planning. Relying too heavily on technology can cost you time and money.

A little update on how the training is going, some mistakes I made. Not big ones I think for the most part.

    1. Jumped the curb going from single lane to single lane (thought it was double lane) hopped over the curb by a lot, guessing I was 3-4 feet into it. Haven't made that mistake again
    2. Backing up traffic for a quarter mile because I couldn't get space in a roundabout.(hate roundabouts with a passion)
    3. Curbed the trailer tires 4 times this week. ( Some serious tight corners )
    4. Forgot to pull the pin when uncoupling (Not a big deal?)

Better than forgetting you pulled the pin. That's when it gets exciting!

Yeah a fedex driver did that I remember it in the news. He lost one of his trailers on the highway he went back and got it a few hours later when he realized he was running doubles not singles
