Would a thread of companies not using driver facing camera's provide any results?

I tried that a while back. Not really helpful, just a bunch of people listing companies that DO. Just like this thread.

Oh that`s good, real good Mr. Vice President of Swift...go back to flirting with your secretary in your air conditioned office and your tea biscuit munching morning meetings as you look down on everyone at their cubical s while you march past them when its over. You condescending trucker wannabe.

The issue isn't so much liability for accidents, but policing behavior not related to safety.

I guarantee that it won't be long before some driver gets canned because he said something politically incorrect in traffic and some eternally butthurt person watching the feed from an office somewhere files a complaint.

Or god forbid, throws a fit because they just caught the driver doing something they didn't want to see in the sleeper.

What kills me is that it removes the one huge benefit to the job. The freedom of the road, not having a boss looking over your shoulder. You can make a good living as a trucker sure but you can make a living doing other things. I don't understand this at all. Literally the only thing long haul trucking has going for it and they just throw it away. Oh well, I'm sure one day it will be mandatory but I'll be out of the truck by then.

MTS or Martin transportation services has driver/road facing cameras that record audio. Was looking into a local position for them until I asked and the terminal manager of Bertrand Mo told me they have them.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned Air Liquide or Linde.

They have inward and outward facing cameras.

I drove for Air Liquide for quite some time and I didn't really care about the camera. I didn't do stupid things whilst driving though.

To each their own, I suppose. If it weren't for the bad drivers then maybe we wouldn't have so much regulation.

So they want to sit behind a desk and watch their drivers? How much more weirdness can the people of this country put up with before they tell these companies to take their jobs and shove it! Anyone that owns a company that would install a driver facing camera is a Sociopath that thinks it's employees are slaves. They have zero respect for you as a Human being. It's no wonder these companies can't attract qualified, competent people to work for them. It's all about the MONEY!
The drivers are just another tool to them. This new Generation of drivers better start standing up for their rights or it's going to keep getting worse.
