Good point and I wondered that if they randomly ding cameras to see if they catch people with handheld devices.
It is weird though, anytime I see the red light it makes me think of HAL from 2001.

I talked to a driver the other day that has a cam in him
He took his wife on a trip, at night while parked he hung a coat over the cam
His company called him and asked why he was blocking the cam at night
Wtf
If that doesn't bother you, nothing will.EatYourVeggies and SHOJim Thank this. -
A Millis driver tried to recruit me
Telling me what a great company it was
I told him I wouldn't drive for them for 2 dollars a mile.
My stance on driver facing cams doesn't have a price.Green_20, JV_620, sevenmph and 1 other person Thank this. -
I really don't want to lose this over them. I'm paid very well, treated well, home nearly every weekend, and have an excellent 401k match. That said I would love this to be my last driving job and would like out of the truck in the next 5 years. -
Almost every company has them now, large or small, by the looks of it. My company just announced they are going to start putting them in, but put it in official messages that employees will not be able to log in to them. Funny thing is I'm not surprised. Every time I see the increasing amount of anti-trucker billboards put up by these ambulance chasing law firms it's a constant reminder of what's coming to the entire industry.
