my contractor was able to "live audit" the driver cams to ensure he could see the driver. Got a phone call about it. He can bring it up on his phone or laptop.

The best thing you can do is stick a strong magnet right on the top of the camera. They arent getting a shred of footage.

We now have Mobileye too. I just shut it off since mine have on/off buttons. Not listening to that crap.

Since I am a contracted employee and NOT a FedEx employee, so as far as I'm concerned they have no legal right to record me or make me use lane departure crap.

(There may be a legal loophole here if a lawyer wanted to take FedEx Ground to court and sue, due to the fact that FXG drivers arent employees that FXG has no grounds to demand that the trucks which arent owned or operated by then be fitted with cameras and lane departure warning devices).

These contractors need to get together and stand up to FXG and say NO! We arent doing this.

I woulda hung up on dispatch and told 'em I'll be on the phone as long as I want. Get over it.

Rumor has it the FMCSA and anti-trucker hate groups are trying to get the driver facing camera's and lane departure devices mandated in every single truck whether company, O/O or contractor owned...just like they did the e-logs.

Unfortunately there's a new group to watch out for.. it's called "the trucking alliance", which is made up of a few of the big mega-companies, the companies who market this stuff along with the "self-driving" truck garbage, and more anti-truck groups. I call it ATA Lite. Their goal is the same as ATA.. to crush out the last of the truly independents and strong arm whatever good small companies that are currently left into using all of this monitoring technology.

    No cameras,no times,and that's MY rule as a driver.
I walked from my last job at aaa cooper, and cardinal logistics.
If you put a camera on what I'm driving, then I'm no longer driving for you.

They need us more than we need them.Stand up and stop the college kids
trying to drive for you.Give us a camera on what they are doing ,live feed into the truck.
Ive gotten by so far without a camera, and plan on finishing my life with no live video on
    how I drive.
Its more future crap implemented by schmucks that don't drive. Don't stand for it!!!

I'm glad my contractor don't bother me. He says he has them in the truck because FedEx makes him. He don't care what I'm doing he has better things to do than watch me drive.
