Moose, you are spot on. If the company is following the FMCSA rules, as they should be, then they will not only ask you for an annual self-certification of any violations they will also run a driver license report. They then have to compare the two and investigate any differences, as well as use any other data they have available to make sure you are not hiding anything -or guilty of any violations that would affect your qualification as a commercial driver.
You are also correct again about the interchangeability of plaintiff attorney with FMCSA! Even if your employer does not catch a violation on your license, should you be involved in a crash -even one that is not your fault- if it is serious enough a good lawyer will find all this stuff and use it to hang both you as the driver and your employer.

When My DWi is 3 years old will a company hire me
-
Someone will always hire you. The problem is, the company hiring you will abuse you. After all they know you can go nowhere else. Then after a couple of years you're driving record is so trashed that you can't get a job anywhere else so you have to stay with them.
Your best bet is just to wait for 5 years, or even better 10 years. -
They’ll drive him to drinking!

I’m not the arbiter of FMCSA regs, but I thought you couldn’t drive for 5 years after a DUI?
-
That is SO funny!

Bro. If it was me, I would take anything you can get for the 6 months- 1 year that you need, then go lease purchase to an 88% payout. Then. At the same time, start running your MC and your DOT paperwork through. Once you have saved up enough for a month or two of insurance and some life money, ditch the uncertainty with the likely foreign and non conforming trucking company that you needed to suffer yourself to for a time; and go net $3,500+ a week with an independent dispatch. No headaches on getting tickets anymore, no headaches on fender benders (you will likely have no more though because it will now be your dime on insurance), and start earning your way into a few more trucks until you don’t have to worry about the tangibility of being in the riskiness of the manual activity that your probably no inherently drawn to be doing

If it were me I would take the job I could get, grab 6mo-1yr of experience. Lease on with a little more aggressive of a company, get the DOT and MC numbers rolling, save up for two-three months of insurance and life money, and then lease your own truck and get 88-90%+ with an independent dispatching company. You would be making more take home in a week that you would for the entire month with basically all the standard companies.

Apologies, didn’t mean to double tap you. Glad I did though!
