You can't only look at the cpm. But yes I wouldn't even consider it if I was stuck in the hood

Average pay depends on the carrier, mileage/percentage. Yes .91/mile for a O/O is extremely low.

No offense meant, but I seem to recall a couple threads where you were talking about dropping $160000 on a new truck. Had down payment money, ready to pull the trigger. Now this question? I'm sure someone on one of those other threads told you that you need more time in the seat as a company driver. But that's not what you want to hear, is it?

Sure you can. Real smart guy. Truth is, if you're talking about cpm, and paying that hefty truck note, you're going to go broke.
I see it every day. I pull into a truckstop, and some guy runs up to me, asking how big the load I'm pulling is and how much it pays. Try to help someone, but within 5 minutes, the chump thinks he knows how to do my job better than me. And I laugh and walk away. And they get mad and say, "You're an A Hole, Six!" Yes, I am. I am that A Hole. I would like to see every driver out there be successful, because the more successful you are, and the more successful I am, the less likely we are to pull cheap freight. But these quick learners think they know everything after a 5 minute conversation, and they become an owner operator long enough to keep freight rates low...and then they lose their shirt and back out.

If you was travelling with your family, and need to stop for the night in a motel, find 2 motels, one of them 5 star, the other a roach motel...for the same money, which one do you book?

Very good. You do not run for a set rate. Get that thought out of your vocabulary. You do not run into a dead zone with no freight for the same rate as you would in the freight lane. You do not pull a heavy load for the same rate you get for a light load. Running a truck like that is foolish.

And how much do you make per mile while you are waiting for a load? Even if you decide to run a mileage contract, which is stupid, you STILL lose money going into bad areas.

If you're going to roam the bigroad and be away from the house, at the very least LINE YOUR POCKETS. In this business, either you are lining your pockets or going broke. $.91/mile isnt even in the ballpark for the average owner operator.

Well at .91cpm you can drive that truck right back to the dealership if you can afford it

Stockholm Syndrome. You dont even make a grand a week as a company driver. Repugnant.

Perhaps 'Les Miserables' would better suited to be based on drivers.

i know i will get basahed ob this but oh well. if you make 900/wk at .34cpm as a company driver becuae you DONT pay fuel, tax, maint,IFTA,Tires, ins(medical), truck payment, trailer payment
at .91CPM you prob wont make much . i have been doing my homework(still have lots to go) and i dont see how you can turn a profit a .91 CPM with a truck note.

    my 2 cents

.03 bonus IF you run 13,000 a month.... that's 3,250 a week.... when I run solo it takes me 3 months to run 20,000 miles and I avg. $500 a day clear.

    work smarter not harder

Are you planning to have your own authority, or run under theirs? There is a company in Denver right now paying O/O $1/mile to run under the companies authority, $1.10/mile running with their own authority.

While I'm not an O/O, at $.91 cpm, if you're running under their authority, you still have to carry bobtail insurance, your own personal insurance, truck payment, fuel, etc., etc., etc.. $15K for a down payment on a truck, you might want to look at this link for what leasing/buying will cost you
