The driver did not intentionally rat you out. He called in for a broke down colleague on the side of the road. It as at that point the savvy investigative mind of the safety person went to work like my cousin vinny asking him all sorts of questions. "Just shout 'em out when you know, did you see any orange emergency triangles?" The driver resonded, "no, but he was only there a few minu..." and Vinny says, "And I'm done with this guy!"
homeskillet and Cornbinder_King Thank this. -

I understand, HiLo. If it's prohibited in writing by an employer, I wouldn't do it either. But I wouldn't feel good about it.
I had to turn down several requests by civilians (non-truckers) for a ride when I was hauling gasoline. Never know, they could be working for the company that got paid to check up on us. "Third-party contract rats". Yuck! -
If anyone is wondering who breeds these rats, it's MBI Energy Services in Belfield, ND.

If you have been driving the same truck for a while you should have in the back of your mind how far you can drive on the fuel you started the trip with or had put in the tanks. It is way too dangerous to be on the side of the road these days.
Maj. Jackhole Thanks this. -
Karma is real. I don't say #### to anyone in management about anything unless it is truely serious, life or death kind of stuff. If I see something that's not being done properly I will tell that person directly. Maybe they didn't know? Maybe they forgot? Who knows? I'd rather give them a chance or 2 to correct their behaviour without suffering backlash from management.
bzinger, Toomanybikes, LoneCowboy and 4 others Thank this.
