National reciprocity should be put in place.
All of your rights guaranteed by the Constitution are protected anywhere in the United States except for the Second Amendment.
There have been several instances of people being law-abiding citizens up until they cross the state line. Then they are criminals until the go back over that invisible line again.
What other Constitutional right would we allowed to work that way?

It passed in the House a few years back, but never came up for a vote in the Senate as it didn't have enough votes to pass. Now, it wouldn't pass in the House either.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but one of the arguments is not all States have the same CCP requirement standards; however, that could be rectified easy enough.

Sooner or later, probably later, the SCOTUS will be forced to make a determination on this very issue, but for now>>>>

@TripleSix My Father started making custom knives when he got out of the Red Army way back when and I’ve picked it up as a hobby. Figured it would be a shame to let all that knowledge die with him. We’ve been getting in to timascus recently. Getting some exceptional results. Great times ahead!

    Maryland sucks.

The State Police requires that you prove that you have a “good and substantial” reason to carry a firearm, and the only ones that can do that are elected officials and business owners.

Same with Jersey...and we can add a few more I'm sure. I received an email today from some pro gun rights group asking me to contribute to their cause. They're fighting cities who want to declare themselves "sanctuaries" from firearms.

So I keep reading the comments here. I got a little rub from some with my opinion. Ehhh

The school I am going to now for my CDL has 2 prior cops teaching. Both are great teachers and drivers. Today a similar talk started when a Semi drove past with a blown inner tire and he did not slow down much. Many comments were made but one teacher gave an example of liability. While driving throwing chunks of rubber off the rim, if it hit a car and caused injury or worse yet death, the driver regardless of insurance would be party to the suit. The driver might lose more than the company because the company will represent themselves and maybe the driver too. Do not count on much help.

It is the same with a gun. You might save a life. You might save your own.

Every day, 313 people are shot in the United States. Among those:

    • 103 people are shot and killed
    • 210 survive gunshot injuries
    • 95 are intentionally shot by someone else
    • 63 die from gun suicide
    • 10 survived an attempted gun suicide
    • 1 is killed unintentionally
    • 90 are shot unintentionally
    • 1 is killed by legal intervention
    • 4 are shot by legal intervention
    • 1 died but the intent was unknown
    • 12 are shot but the intent was unknown
So of the 300 plus shootings a day that result in physical injury or death only 5 are legal intervention. Not a huge number since the numbers of gun owners are between 36 and 60 percent of all Americans. Billions of gun owners yet only 5 a day used for legal intervention. SHowing the gun does not count.
