Just do whatever you got to do to have a hot meal...charcoal, propane bottle, inverter (my choice I use 1500 watt, company supplied inverter), the big heater, cigarette lighter plug in small appliances. Trust me the suites don't go without hot food and I nor should you either. Next in line for that "hot" meal?....

So after reading all these posts about cooking in and out of the truck, I have to say I'm:
    1. Hungry
    2. Ready to pick up a crockpot
    3. Making a grocery list
    4. Looking forward to eating healthy
    5. Looking forward to left overs, especially pot roast.

I've never seen a truckers cook book. From the sound of your experience maybe you should put one together.

I don't think I could Live without waking up to my 12 cup auto coffee maker in the morning.

The Oster convection toaster oven has totally replaced the microwave, though it makes the 3500 watt inverter scream if the truck isn't fired up.

Best addition to the truck yet has been the countertop ice maker for 80 bucks.

As for grilles. Home Depot sells a really nice portable stainless propane grill for 99 bucks.
Folds up into a nice little suitcase with the legs folded.

Well to be honest, I am not a fan of microwave ovens for anything except heating and reheating... I know there are lots of recipes for cooking in microwaves but for some reason I've never actually tried it. I'm not talking about frozen dinner, I'm talking about putting a meal together like chicken -- you know what I mean. But honestly, when you're stuck someplace for the weekend, being able to put a nice meal together and having some leftovers is very appealing to me.
