And how did you get on the freeway?Hamshoe Thanks this. -

I didn't. I drove down the service road, went under the highway, went left, went right at the Hampton Inn and delivered to Sam's. Drove the service road went under the freeway, left, went back to the terminal. 30 or less minutes of driving time.
They are still doing the smash up derby out there. Icey patches and bridges are frozen. No salt for the roads either.
I am still in Lancaster. People are getting stick trying to pull out the gate....... -
Highjacking for a moment-- I had a doo doo doo doo moment in Paris TX recently (think Twilight Zone). My mom and her family had grown up in Bonham TX in the 1940's post depression as sharecroppers. They moved to California after the DustBowl-- anyway, like many loads I have taken to and through cities and areas I never expected to visit in my life, I got to roll through Bonham and had chills run up my spine.
As you were, return to your regularly scheduled programming.... -

Dropped my "generator" Monday morning 3 blocks from Central yard Irving...they bob-tailed me down to Houston to get an MT....25 mph to Ennis on I-40 then all dry road down to Houston....came back up today pretty much same scenario in reverse...now loading in Grapevine headed to Phoenix and some warmth!
You guys be careful out there...the hit and miss ice patches are the worst...these 4 wheelers get up to speed in the open areas then get on the brakes under the overpasses and do the "360" game....talk about pucker power! -
I am going to get a 34 in. I can roll at 10:45 tonight. Pick up the load and sleep if necessary on my way to Houston. Get a 10hr break in and deliver at 9pm tomorrow night.
Scotty that was a ghost that passed through you. Either one of her relatives, or someone who died at that particular place.
I had that happen frequently at one place on TN 96 in Williamson County. Mostly at night.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I was too tired to roll last night. I left Lancaster at 4am. Slid over a lane twice while going 30-35mph on I-30. Everything was pretty much dry past Rockwall going East.
I got to roll back through Dallas at the tail end of rush hour. I delayed it a little by weighing the load at the T/A in Rockwall.
I got my weight 100lbs more on the drives than on the tandems! I am getting good at guessing!
