Over five years ago I left before going on the road. I am still under contract with Western Express after training with them which I assume will be bonded for life. However, I lost my CDL shortly after. Now that I don’t have a commercial license anymore, what becomes of my status? Still under contract?

What does the contract say?

Probably nothing except your credit rating. They'll probably come after you to pay for the training. You don't pay, they send it to collections and it'll sit there until you either settle it or 7 years lapses, then it will fall off your credit report. Once it's on your credit report, you can try and despute it and you might get lucky and have it removed.
That's my guess anyway.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Do you want to acquire a cdl again?
If so, do you want a private cdl school or trucking company cdl school?
As @Six9GS posted, after 7 yrs. you're free of the debt as long as you don't answer any letters or emails or phone calls from Western Express or the collection agency. If you do answer any, then the 7 years start over.
What some drivers do is get a credit card and pay off the debt. Then destroy the credit card and just focus on paying it off without adding any more to it.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
