I've had my class B for years now and in February I tested for my class A and passed. About 2 weeks after passing my test we shut down for covid, all the DMV'S were closed for weeks then finally they reopened by scheduled appointments only in the state of Oregon. I scheduled my appointment but it was almost 4 months out. When the time had came to finally update my license I had contracted covid. I was down for about 3 weeks then I rescheduled another appointment. Again this one was 3 months out. I just went to that appointment on Friday and was told I couldn't update my license because it was past the 6 month time frame. So all that money and time was wasted.
I asked the DMV clerk why cdl holders don't get extentions like every other scenario and she told me it was a federal law and they couldn't do anything. The company where I tested said if there was a way he would help, but I'm not sure where t go from here.
Am I seriously screwed out of this, or is there someone to talk to?

Probably going to make you take a refresher & get recertified man. Same crap i'm looking at after not driving for 4 years since graduating. If you have to go that route do NOT sign a contract to get it. Some are out there that don't require contract.

Wait.
Wait...
6 months..?
Is this a permit to license you’re talking about?
If so, yes there was an extension 1 time, you had to go in the dmv, maybe make a phone call by the covid rules thing, and get an extension.
If you let it drop I don’t know, might have to get a phone number to someone higher in authority than her. -

This was for the license, they are saying I have to retake the test because I didn't get to dmv within 6 months.

Are you talking about your DMV road test?
If you have to start over, go to a school that does onsite road testing, so you can bypass the slow ### DMV. -
All you have to do is get a new CLP, which is a written test. Then schedule your driving test.
It sucks, but it's not really a big deal.Accidental Trucker Thanks this. -
If he has to make another appointment at another 3 months out.
I'm not in Oregon but I guess I need to make an appointment for my med card to the dmv.
